Kalahandi College has gained the land for environment up its long term campus at Karlapada close to Bhawanipatna, and it is located 18km from the present campus at Bhawanipatna.

Just after chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s approval, in September 2019, the state-federal government had transformed the Kalahandi College into an affiliating university. Till then, it was the Federal government Autonomous Faculty, Bhawanipatna, as the state govt had specified its unitary standing on March 6, 2019.

Sanjay Kumar Satapathy, who assumed charge as the vice-chancellor of the university very last month stated that the 96.47-acre land is about 10km from the Utkela airstrip, which has been incorporated in the Centre’s UDAN plan for regional connectivity. It is a scenic locale correct following the Tel river and hills. It is very well-connected with the Bhawanipatna-Khariar road on one side and the railway station and airstrip are also close by.

He added that he will also initial assure significant plantation and the placing up of a boundary wall close to the website of the long-lasting campus.

He further stated that they will put in rainwater harvesting structures within the college campus to help conserve h2o. He later claimed that the lasting campus of the college will be a worldwide centre of schooling.

They have planned to established up a Rendo Majhi Centre for Tribal Scientific tests and a Gudhandi and Yogimatha Centre of Anthropology. He also stated that the neighbourhood administration has earmarked the land for the college.
