Kapilash Zoo in Dhenkanal embraces visitors

Almost being shut for 7-8 months pertaining to the effects of the deadly corona virus or Covid-19 pandemic, finally the Kapilash Zoo in Dhenkanal has opened for the visitors last month.
The Kapilash Zoo which is situated on the foothills of the kapilash hill has opened its door to the visitors with adequate safety measures like compulsory wearing of masks, using hand sanitizer and maintaining social distance.


The Kapilah Zoo in Dhenkanal houses a variety of animal species like elephants, jungle cats, deer, wild boar, peacock, phython,grey hornbills, owl, hill myna, and many more. Every year tens of thousands of visitors comes to this zoo to have a glimpse of those animals as well as spent some quality time away from their daily busy schedule.
Apart from all these the zoo offers boating facility to its visitors inside its premises. There are also a few swings for childrens to play.
Santosh Kumar Sahoo, a visitor said, “I am very happy to learn about the reopening of the zoo, Today I am here with my family members, and we are enjoying the atmosphere over here.”


Dattatreya Panda, another visitor said, “ After 7 months I am here to have a glimpse of both flora and fauna present over here, we all should comply to the guidelines issued by the authorities, and I am happy to visit this place after a long interval of time.”
