KIIT Ranked as No.1 in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements

The KIIT University, Bhubaneswar has been ranked as No.1 among self-financing institutions of the country in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2020 of the Union Ministry of Education.

The big announcement by made by the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu as KIIT is the only educational institution or University from Odisha to bag this title and was successfully featured in the top-five list of ARIIA rankings.

SRM Institute, Chennai bagged the second position and the third position went to Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. The classification was made in five different categories-higher educational institutions only for women, private college/institutes, private or self-financed university, government or government-aided colleges/institutes, government or government-aided universities and institutes of national importance by the Ministry of Education.

Around 16 institutions from all over the state competed in the ranking in which IIT Bhubaneswar was placed between rank 26 and 50. CV Raman College of Engineering, Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gandhi Institute for Technology, Silicon Institute of Technology and Gandhi Institute for Education and Technology were placed under Band B, and International Management Institute ranked above 50.

Under the section of Institutions of National importance, Central universities and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes, IIT Madras bagged the top position.

And under the Government and Government Aided Universities, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai got the top place. College of Engineering, Pune under Government and Government Aided Colleges; Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar under Private or Self-Financed Universities and SR Engineering College, Warangal under Private or Self-Financed Colleges were declared on top positions respectively.

The main objective of this ranking is to encourage innovation among Indian Educational Institutions. Even this year a particular section was added in the list for Women institutions of current categories in which Tamil Nadu-based Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education For Women and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women – made it to the list.

The ARIIA was launched in 2018 and KIIT positioned in the top ranking ever since from the State, and it had got the second rank under the private university category.
