Dr. Samal’s impressive career began in Houston, where he has been a leading figure in invasive cardiology since 2002. His foundational training was solidified at the prestigious Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, renowned for its expertise in cardiovascular diseases. Here, he honed his skills in coronary and peripheral interventions, heart failure, and advanced cardiac care, as well as procedures like angioplasty, stenting, and cardiac catheterization.
Before Houston, Dr. Samal’s path took him through Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he trained in Internal Medicine, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he conducted a research fellowship in Echocardiography. His extensive training and experience are reflected in his board certifications in Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine.
At Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, Dr. Samal previously served as the chairman-elect of the Department of Cardiology. His role encompassed overseeing the department’s operations and ensuring that the highest standards of cardiac care were maintained. His expertise extended to performing intricate procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stenting, angiography, and pacemaker implantation, showcasing his comprehensive skill set.

Inaugurated in November 2008, Utkal Institute of Medical Science and Hospital, a part of Utkal Healthcare Pvt Ltd (UHPL), has already set a high standard for healthcare in Eastern India. The hospital was designed to provide world-class services at an affordable cost and has introduced several advanced technologies, including PET-CT services in September 2014 and high-dose radionuclide therapy in October 2016. The addition of an oncology clinic in December 2016 further highlights the hospital’s comprehensive approach to treating complex conditions.
