‘Mahadeepa’ To Be Placed On Lingaraj Temple At 10 PM On Maha Shivaratri

On February 26, the day of Maha Shivaratri, the “Mahadeepa” of Lord Lingaraj will be positioned on the temple crown (Dadhinauti) at 10 p.m. Prithviraj Harichandan, the law minister, made this announcement.

The Law Minister said, “With the blessings of Lord Lingaraj, we plan to lift the ‘Mahadeepa’ at 10 pm. We will make sure everything is done safely.”

He said that all preparations are being meticulously made to ensure that devotees may offer their prayers without any obstacles.

“We are making sure that devotees can follow the right path for their prayers. We have installed CCTV cameras for security and arranged special entry for devotees, as well as for servitors, their families, and VIPs. We are also making sure that devotees waiting in line can pray comfortably. We are setting up necessary provisions like water and other facilities for their convenience,” he added.

He further mentioned that the committees of Lingaraj Temple and the local government had previously met twice. The safety procedures have been actively reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police and other high-ranking personnel.
