A video showing TMC MP Mahua Moitra tucking her Louis Vuitton bag beneath the table during a discussion about “mehengai” in the Lok Sabha has gone viral on Twitter, with many claiming that the MP was attempting to “hide” the bag. Moitra was spotted pulling her luggage from next to her and placing it beneath the table as Trinamool’s Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar was speaking about price increases. According to IANS, it was a Louis Vuitton bag worth roughly Rs 1.5-2 lakhs.Meanwhile, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar ate a raw brinjal she brought with her on Monday and wondered whether the government wants “us to consume raw” veggies. As opposition members questioned the government’s earnestness in tackling the issue of inflation, Dastidar stated that individuals who received a cylinder via the Ujjwala system do not have the funds to refill it.She added she sometimes wondered if “government bahadur wants us to eat raw” veggies and bit into brinjal, which pleased the MPs, even those from her own party. “The price of an LPG cylinder has increased four times in the previous two months…from Rs.600 to Rs.1,100,” she explained.
