Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal and the leader of the Trinamool Party, arrived in Odisha on Tuesday on a three-day visit. Tusharkanti Behera, the state’s minister of state for the home and sports in Odisha, met Banerjee as she arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport. She departed towards Puri by car with a police escort shortly after landing.
On March 23, she is expected to meet with Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha and the president of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
“Our senior leader is Naveen Patnaik Ji. At the airport, Banerjee told reporters, “I’ll see him. She also stated that she will pray at the Puri Lord Jagannath shrine. Banerjee will spend the following two nights in Puri. Samarth Verma, the Puri District Collector, said that on March 22, she will make an afternoon prayer visit to the Shree Jagannath Temple.
According to convention, the Puri district government has set up protection for the West Bengal Chief Minister, according to Superintendent of Police K.V. Singh.
