This came shortly after Parliament disqualified the Congressman from running for office.
Banerjee claimed that opposition figures have turned into “the major target of the BJP,” referring to the disqualification as “PM Modi’s New India.” “In PM Modi’s New India, BJP has made opposition leaders its top priority! Although opposition lawmakers are dismissed for their speeches, BJP leaders with criminal records are appointed to the cabinet. Our constitutional democracy has reached a new low today, the leader of the Trinamool Congress tweeted.Baneerjee’s response can be considered as a significant step because the Trinamool Congress, which is not known for having a cordial relationship with the Congress, had been dead silent in the wake of Gandhi’s conviction.
