Dr. Souvagya Mohapatra is a distinguished leader in the hospitality and tourism industry, renowned for over three decades of excellence, innovation, and visionary management. Currently serving as the Managing Director for India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka at Atmosphere Core, he has been instrumental in driving the brand’s strategic expansion across the Asia-Pacific region while upholding its ethos of heartfelt service and authentic guest experiences.
A veteran professional with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Mohapatra began his journey with The Oberoi Group, where he honed his expertise in luxury hospitality. His outstanding leadership skills and operational acumen soon led him to Mayfair Hotels & Resorts, where he rose from Manager – Operations to Executive Director. Under his stewardship, Mayfair grew into one of India’s most admired and successful luxury hospitality brands, celebrated for its quality, guest-centricity, and regional influence.
In recognition of his enduring contributions to the sector, ICFAI University, Gangtok, recently conferred upon him a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Hospitality and Tourism. The honor celebrates his lifelong dedication to excellence, continuous learning, and the advancement of the global hospitality industry.
