The Khan and Roshan families came together in Mumbai to pay tribute to the late Zarine Khan at her prayer meet, an emotional gathering that saw heartfelt memories and moving words shared by her loved ones.
The ceremony was attended by several well-known names from the film industry, including Jitendra, Salim Khan, Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik Roshan, Saba Azad, Fardeen Khan, and Saif Ali Khan, among others.
During the service, Sanjay Khan, Zarine’s husband and veteran actor, recalled their first meeting and how he proposed to her when he was just 18 and she was 14. “When I looked into her luminous, beautiful eyes, I felt as if I was looking at the world. I asked her, ‘Will you marry me?’ She smiled and said, ‘If I feel the same about you after one year, I’ll say yes.’ I knew then that she wasn’t just beautiful, but intelligent — someone who would make a wonderful wife,” he shared fondly.
Zarine’s son, Zayed Khan, spoke with deep emotion, calling his mother his greatest strength. “My mother was my God. I’ll miss her deeply,” he said.
Hrithik Roshan, who was once married to Zarine’s daughter Sussanne Khan, also paid a heartfelt tribute, saying, “It has been my privilege to love and be loved by you.”
The atmosphere at the prayer meet was filled with love and remembrance as friends, family, and colleagues celebrated Zarine Khan’s grace, warmth, and the lasting impact she left on everyone who knew her.
