The censor board has cleared ‘Mindgame’, a movie based on 2018’s sensational Patnagarh parcel bomb case in Bolangir district. It starrer Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni, Sunita Krishnan and Ollywood actor Manoj Mishra in prominent roles will soon hit the theatres.

As per reports, filmmaker Rajesh Touchriver had pitched titles like ‘Bullet Raja’, and ‘Patnagarh’, but the censor board approved ‘Mindgame’ which will release in Telugu and Odia languages simultaneously.

The movie is based on the true incident of a sensational parcel bomb case where Punji Lal Meher, planted a bomb inside a wedding gift packet and presented it to a newlywed couple in Patnagarh of Bolangir district in 2018. The bomb blast killed the newlywed groom Soumya Sekhar Sahu, a 26-year-old software engineer, and his family members. Soumya’s wife was also grievously injured in the blast.

Remarkably, the movie was screened at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival on Thursday after it was dropped from the 26th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) last year after it could not get cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie will also be screened at Sisir Mancha at 6:30 pm on Sunday.
