Ministry of Information and Broadcasting bans video that promote Anti India and Religious Hatred

YouTube has been ordered to remove 45 videos from 10 channels by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. YouTube is an online video sharing and social media site. Over 1 crore 30 lakh views were accumulated from the prohibited videos. One of those prohibited videos is that of YouTuber Dhruv Rathi. “Orders to remove the detected videos have been given on September 23, 2022,” the ministry wrote in its order. According to the provisions of the IT Rules 2021, this action is being done.

In order to incite hate among religious communities, the content contained modified films and false news. Examples include untrue assertions that the Government has restricted specific communities’ religious freedom, violent threats made against religious groups, and the proclamation of civil war in India, among others, it continues.

According to The Indian Express, the videos that have been removed include 13 from The Live TV, nine from Hind Voice, six each from Inqilab Live and Desh India Live, four from Mr. Reaction Wala, two from GetsetflyFACT and 4PM, and one each from the channels of Vinay Pratap Singh Bhopar, National Adda, and Dhruv Rathi.

The content that the ministry restricted was determined to be harmful to India’s sovereignty and integrity, security, good ties with other countries, and domestic public order.According to IT guidelines for 2021, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also blacklisted one YouTube channel with a Pakistani and seven Indian domains last month.
