The Odisha government has chosen to expand the “Mo Bus” services to all villages in the State under the Laxmi Scheme in an effort to provide hassle-free public transportation, according to Usha Padhee, secretary of the transport department, on Tuesday. The ‘Mo Bus’ administered by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) would travel between blocks and panchayats, according to sources.
Six districts—Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, and Gajapati—will receive the services in the first phase. According to Padhee, the services would eventually be made available in other areas.
“The Laxmi Scheme will alter the course of history. All blocks and gram panchayats will be serviced by the “Mo Bus.” The plan intends to offer reliable and economical services, according to Padhee.
The ‘Mo Bus’ service was previously expanded by the Odisha government on May 18 to three more districts, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Ganjam, in the clusters of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Brajarajnagar, Belpahar, and Berhampur, Gopalpur, Chhatrapur, Hinjilicut, and Digapahandi. Mo Bus service is now offered in a number of metropolitan clusters.
