NIC Observes Safer Internet Day With Workshops On Cyber Safety & Awareness

Every year, Safer Internet Day is observed with the goal of promoting a more secure and responsible online environment. On February 11, 2025, the whole community united under the theme “Together for a better internet” to raise awareness of digital issues and inspire group efforts to create a safer online environment.

Celebrated in more than 150 nations, Safer Internet Day highlights the need of creating a secure, inclusive, and safe online environment, especially for kids and teens. SID encourages people to take action against online abuse and fosters a culture of cyber safety through education, empowerment programs, and awareness campaigns. SID serves as a rallying cry for establishing a constructive, advantageous, and safe internet for all people, with events and activities held by communities, schools, and organizations throughout the world.

In honor of the day, workshops were held in Bhubaneswar by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Odisha, Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, at Shri Sathya Sai Women’s College and BJB Junior College. More than 250 students and faculty members attended the first workshop, which was organized by the National Informatics Center in partnership with Sathya Sai Women’s College.
