Dikhyaa Mohanty 
Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, an IAS officer from the 2012 batch of Odisha, was named by the Indian government on Monday as the state of Odisha’s new Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR). Kalyan’s appointment will take effect until December 31, 2025, or until further orders—whichever comes first—according to a letter sent to the Odisha Chief Secretary on Monday, June 2, 2025, by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India.
According to the letter, Kalyan’s assignment at the Director level has been authorized by the Competent Authority, and the Government of Odisha has been instructed to release him right away so that he can start his new duties right away.
