On Monday, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Empowerment, and Power, was visited by V Sriram, the Managing Director of the Nudge Institute. Atul Satija, the CEO and founder of the Nudge Institute, and Sushil Kumar Lohani, the principal secretary of the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, both attended the meeting, according to an official news release.
In Odisha, distress migration has lately become a major problem. The administration has formed a task team under the direction of Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo to address this and put immediate measures into place. The task team will concentrate on lowering distressed migration and giving impacted people access to long-term job possibilities.
The Nudge Institute suggested collaborating with the state government to establish direct communication with migrant workers and provide them skill-based revenue streams. The Nudge Institute is already working on tribal development initiatives in several states, including Jharkhand, according to Managing Director Sriram.
