Bhubaneswar: An eight-year-old boy of Odisha has set the world record in reciting the ‘Maximum Sanskrit Shlokas’. The Mayank Pati of Golakunda village in Bari block made it the the International Book of Records by reciting 30 Sanskrit Shlokas in just 2 minutes.
A Std 3rd student of St Xaviers School,Cuttack, Mayank’s parents Manas Ranjan Pati and Pushpanjali Dash said, he is a multi-talented boy. Apart from Shlokas, Mayank is conversant with story-telling in Hindi and English apart from being good at dance and singing.
Mayank the young boy said that he developed interest in Sanskrit from his grandfather and learnt stories from his parents. “The credit behind this achievement goes to my parents and family,” said Mayank.
The district, his schoolmates, teachers and family feel proud of this international feat achieved by Mayank. “We hope he goes a long way in achieving laurels for Odisha and the country in future,” his family members said.
