Odisha Bags Seven Awards in National Panchayat Awards 2024

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, will award the National Panchayat Awards 2024, which will honor Odisha in seven categories. On December 11, the prizes will be given out at a special event at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. According to an official press release, a number of Odisha-based Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, and Zilla Parishads that are regarded as some of the best in the nation will be honored. The top-performing Panchayati Raj institutions in India are recognized in a number of categories by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Panchayati Raj Institutions in Odisha will get awards for excellence in seven different categories this year.

The Sustha Panchayat Puraskar and Swabalambi Bhitibhumi Panchayat Puraskar will be given to Keluapalli and Sahapur in Ganjam district, respectively, under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar. Furthermore, the Koraput Zilla Parishad will be recognized as the Shrestha Zila Panchayat under the Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar category, while Ganjam’s Chhatrapur Panchayat Samiti will get the Shrestha Block Panchayat Puraskar. The Gram Urja Swaraj Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar will be given to Kasir Gram Panchayat in the Sundargarh district, while the Carbon Neutral Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar will be given to Kenjrikela Gram Panchayat.

Additionally, for its exceptional efforts in training and enhancing the ability of Panchayati Raj Institutions throughout the state, Odisha’s Rajya Gramya Unnayan & Panchayatiraj Pratisthan has been chosen for the Panchayat Kshamta Nirmaan Sarvottam Sansthan Puraskar. Rabi Narayan Naik, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, congratulated the officials and employees of the Rural Development Department and the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, as well as all the award-winning Panchayati Raj Institutions. He underlined that other Panchayati Raj Institutions will be motivated to pursue greatness by these honors.

Along with their teams, the Minister also praised Surendra Kumar Meena, Director of Rajya Gramya Unnayan & Panchayatiraj Pratisthan, and Girish S.N., Secretary of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, for their efforts to this outstanding accomplishment.
