Odisha Cabinet Approves “Swachha Odisha” Scheme With Rs 1600 Crore Outlay

The new State sector program “Swachha Odisha,” which would cost Rs 1600 crore over five years, from FY 2025–2026 to FY 2029–2030, has been approved by the Odisha Cabinet. By combining several programs into a single framework, this plan seeks to improve the efficacy and efficiency of the state’s sanitation activities.

By combining current state initiatives including Solid Waste Management, Used Water Management, and Urban Septage Systems into a single scheme, “Swachha Odisha” seeks to streamline processes associated with project execution, funding, and monitoring. By filling in budget shortages and working toward complete saturation across all urban sanitation verticals, this will assist Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

In order to further improve the intended results in terms of urban cleanliness and sanitation, the plan would also support the ongoing Swachh Bharat campaign. “Swachha Odisha” represents the government’s dedication to enhancing urban sanitation and cleanliness in Odisha by making cities waste-free and clean.
