A high-level preparatory meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena in anticipation of President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit to Odisha.
Jena directed the District Magistrates and departmental officials in charge of overseeing all preparations for the President’s visit. He emphasized the importance of making the President’s program flawless. President Murmu is scheduled to visit Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur districts this month for three days to participate in various programs from November 20 to 22. She will arrive in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon of November 26 for her second phase tour and will attend the ‘Boita Bandana’ program in Paradip the following day.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary D.K. Singh, Police DG Sunil Kumar Bansal, Twin City Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, and top officials from the Intelligence department. The Chief Secretary directed the relevant authorities to ensure that all program venues have continuous power supply and generators.
Escorting the President to various event venues, her accommodation, security arrangements, program coordination officer responsibilities, carcade arrangements, road barricading arrangements during her visit, transportation arrangements, food inspection, road maintenance, medical care, sanitation, drinking water supply, stage preparation, audience seating arrangements, and the required number of passes were all discussed during the meeting. The meeting also included a detailed discussion about media distribution as well as internet and Wi-Fi access at event venues. The home department will have a control room.
