The OPTCL Tech Tower in Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar, was officially opened today by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. This multi-story structure, valued at Rs 55 crore, would house the corporate office of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL). In addition to being energy-efficient, the building was built using contemporary architecture and technology to guarantee worker safety.
It is important to note that OPTCL contributes significantly to the development of the power industry in addition to offering the people of Odisha reliable, high-quality energy supply. According to the Chief Minister, OPTCL plays a vital role in the State’s transmission system. The State had 16 lakh consumers in 2000; by the year 2000, there were 97 lakh. In a similar vein, although there were formerly just 80 grids, 194 grid substations are operational now.
The transmission line has grown from 9400 circuit kilometers to 16,300 circuit kilometers, and the transformation capacity has increased from 6,125 MVA to 25,800 MVA. The OPTCL has shown to be an expert in the field of power transmission and has given the state’s youth a wealth of job prospects.
