Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates 158 Smart Schools

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 158 reconstructed schools of five districts under the school transformation programme of the 5T initiative through video conferencing.

According to the reports, on the fourth day of the 5T School transformation, the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated a total of 158 schools including 6 in Malkangiri, 25 in Jharsuguda, 29 in Kalahandi, 60 in Mayurbhanj and 38 schools of Khordha district.

The first phase programme will be completed on November 24. Apart from smart classrooms, the smart schools have e-libraries, e-laboratories, modern washrooms, and drinking water filters, etc. The students will be able to study through projectors and whiteboards instead of the blackboards.

The Chief Minister thanked the local MLAs, panchayat representatives, members of the school managing committees, teachers and parents for the success of the school transformation programme.  “I want students of our State may lead in every field. They may bring laurels to the State in lieu of education, sports and music. They should know about technology. They should dream big and go ahead with self-confidence. This is the aim behind the transformation of the schools,” the CM said.

The CM also spoke about the 5T initiative. The school transformation is the biggest instance of 5T that includes technology, teamwork, time, transparency and transformation. This has made it possible for the transformation of the schools.
