Odisha Culture and Heritage To Be Placed In Textbooks: Decision By Cabinet Minister

 The history of Odisha Culture and Heritage and life history of the great sons of the soil – from ancient times to the modern age will now be at the textbooks and the additional textbooks. All the topics will be selected by a special process for class VII, VIII and IX.

Cabinet Minister took the decision and stated that “It is our obligation to keep their memories alive with every generation and make the future generation learn about their contribution to building a great Odisha. This is a continuous process. With the advent of the digital and social media, appropriate steps will be taken for the introduction of their life and work in the textbooks after practical considerations.”

It further added that “The entire history of our glorious heritage and the life history of our great sons from ancient times till the modern age will find a place in textbooks and additional textbooks. These topics will be selected by a special process for Class-7, 8 and 9. Winners of various competitions on these topics will be awarded, and they will also be given annual scholarships. A committee of eminent persons and educationists will be formed for this. The birthplaces of our legendary sons will be converted to model villages which will inspire our future generations. Their birth and death anniversaries will be celebrated with appropriate honour and respect. This will be a humble tribute to our great sons. The State Cabinet approves the above proposals.”

The State Cabinet also decided even the conversion of the soil’s birthplaces to model villages. Their birth and death anniversaries will be celebrated with appropriate honour and respect.
