Odisha Fire Service Comes Under ‘Mo Sarkar’ Initiative To Strengthen Fire Service Delivery System

Odisha Fire Service is now all under the influence of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative, which will help to establish the fire service delivery system in Odisha. Even feedback from people regarding the system has been taken by the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC).

Around 2000 citizens of the database who have contacted the department for fire rescue calls, fire safety certificates, and fire incident reports have been given to the OCAC regarding the matter. Satyajit Mohanty, DG Fire Service, stated that the system would provide transparency and uninterrupted services to the citizen. Even to fix the officers’ accountability, ‘Mo Sarkar’ was executed in the department.

With the portal ‘Agni Shama Seva,’ Odisha Fire Service planned to combine all the 338 fire stations, which will provide online services to the citizens. Offices of 36 fire service districts along with one chief Fire Officers, 11 Deputy Fire officers, and three range fire officers have been integrated with the portal. Mohanty further informed that the services would be extended to 60 fire stations, out of which 338 will be by this March. Even integration of ‘Agni Shama Seva’ with the State government’s Go Swift and Odisha One portals has already been completed.

Around 10,000 fire calls were attended along with 18,000 special needs, including rescue and road accidents in last year by Odisha Fire Service. The department has issued about 2000 fire safety recommendations and certificates to various commercial and clinical establishments, industries, educational institutions, and others during the period.
