Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the country’s first ‘Fire Park’ in Bhubaneswar along with the launch of an effective online portal- ‘Agnishama Seva’ of Directorate General Fire Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence (http://odishafshgscd.gov.in/), through video conferencing.
The online portal will help to aid access to various citizen services which is provided by the department. The ‘Fire Park’ which is set up at the premises of Odisha Fire & Disaster Response Academy (OFDRA) in the Bermuda area, Bhubaneswar shows by creating awareness on fire safety measures. The park is open for the public from 3:30 PM to 5 PM.
Satyajit Mohanty, DG Fire Service informed that the park has many stalls where each of them demonstrates the safety measures which will be initiated during a fire accident before the arrival of the firefighters. Other features which it shows like a presentation on the use of fire-fighting equipment, rescue and disaster operations, exhibition hall, screening of films and distribution of leaflets on fire safety.

CM Patnaik stated that the park will help the citizen in improving the awareness regarding the basic fire safety measures and educating them, especially with the students. He further said that to create a safety complaint citizenry efforts are been made by the authorities. 16 fire-related services are now available to the citizens on the online mode in the dynamic portal www.odishafshgscd.gov.in.
He later applauded the work effort of the Odisha Fire Service in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and also commended the fire personnel for the massive plasma donation for the treatment of Covid patients. He also appreciated the work of rescue and restoration work during cyclone Amphan and high flood last year.
