The Odisha Business Meet Tokyo 2023 was held on Wednesday by the Government of Odisha, India, in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Japan, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). JETRO Executive Vice-President Kazuya Nakajo, Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik, top officials from the Odisha Government, IPICOL, and FICCI, and more than 200 delegates from diverse sectors from all around Japan attended the conference.
Pradeep Kumar Jena, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Odisha, welcomed the distinguished audience and explained how Odisha has been one of the major development breakthrough states in the nation, recording impressive GSDP growth rates year after year and industrializing at breakneck speed under the leadership of the Chief Minister. Kazuya Nakajo, Executive Vice-President of JETRO, spoke at the event and emphasized the growing commercial potential between India and Japan.
He referred to the relationship between the two nations as a “Family Bond” as opposed to a “Business Relationship.” Nakajo discussed the impending initiatives being undertaken by the Indian government, such as the building of extensive industrial infrastructure throughout the nation, and he advised his Japanese friends to carefully consider making significant investments in India. He also emphasized Odisha’s strategic position and advantage in natural resources as factors that make it a desirable investment option for Japanese investors.
