The Odisha government has started making plans to deal with heatwave conditions in the months ahead after temperatures spiked to 35 degrees Celsius and higher in 15 locations in the last two days.
Bhubaneswar, which was the warmest place in Odisha for the second day in a row, had a minor decrease in temperature during the course of the previous day. In comparison to the previous day’s 37 degrees Celsius, the city recorded 36.4 degrees. Following Chandbali and Bhadrak at 35.8 degrees Celsius each, Jharsuguda at 35.6 degrees Celsius, Sonepur and Boudh at 35.5 degrees Celsius each, Nayagarh and Balangir at 35.4 degrees Celsius each, and Dhenkanal at 35.2 degrees Celsius, the towns of Titilagarh and Bhawanipatna in Western Odisha recorded the second-highest maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
Cuttack, Angul, Malkangiri and Talcher recorded 35 degree Celsius, according to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.
