Odisha’s Balasore has recorded one sunstroke death, according to Public Health Director Dr. Niranjan Mishra. According to Dr. Mishra, 71 people have been admitted to hospitals thus far due to heat-related illnesses including sunstroke. Thirty-five people were hospitalized in the district of Sundargarh, and seven in each of the districts of Mayurbhanj and Angul. In a similar vein, he continued, six people were admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar due to heat-related illnesses.
In light of the heatwave, the Public Health Director stated that all preparations for providing healthcare had been taken in advance. Dr. Mishra has recommended that people who are elderly, sick, or pregnant stay indoors during peak hours. They should have a wet towel over their heads, drinking water, and an umbrella in case it can’t be avoided.
