Odisha Govt Restructures OHMS Cadre With Corresponding Pay Revision

In an additional noteworthy move aimed at drawing and keeping skilled labor for the efficient provision of healthcare services, the State government reorganized the Odisha Homeopathic Medical Service (OHMS) cadre and adjusted salaries accordingly. With 399 posts at the base level, the total cadre strength was increased to 630 in accordance with the revised structure.

In a notification to that effect, Secretary Shalini Pandit of Health and Family Welfare stated that, in accordance with ORSP Rules, there would be 196 positions at the first promotional hierarchy in the level-12 pay matrix. The number of Deputy Director positions in the pay level—13—will be increased to two in order to provide the cadre with additional opportunities for advancement.

The position of Joint Director, at pay level 14, would be the fourth in the cadre’s promotional hierarchy. The new hierarchy would consist of the following positions: Deputy Director (02), Joint Director (01), DHMO/Dy. Supdt/CMO (32), and Sr.HMO (399). The OHMS cadre officers praised the State Government for taking this action and welcomed the resolution.
