Odisha ranks first in the country in jackfruit production, sixth in lemon production, and eighth in mango production, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain announced today in the Odisha Assembly.
In response to a question from Rajnagar BJD member Dhruba Charan Sahu, the Minister stated that the state produces 98,55,770 MT of vegetables and 25,31,534 MT of fruits.
Odisha ranks first in jackfruit, sixth in lemon, and eighth in mango production, and first in sweet potato, third in paddy straw mushroom, second in brinjal and cabbage, sixth in cauliflower, fifth in ladies’ finger (okra), tomato, and watermelon, and eighth in bottle gourd,” Swain said.
