Preetiranjan Gharai, Minister of SDTE, announced that the state government is holding the “Odisha Skill Conclave 2023” with the theme “Skilling for the New World” on April 20–22 at the Kalinga Stadium here to further promote the “Skilled-in-Odisha” brand and to make the youth of the state skilled and employable not only within the country but also abroad. Today, Gharai said during a press conference at the Geeta Gobinda Sadan in this city that the government aims to interact with delegates from business, academia, training partners, sector skills councils, international organizations, country specific representatives, and state skill ambassadors through this conclave.
According to Gharai, it is a suitable forum for discussion, creating a consensus, and creating a roadmap for future courses of action to promote Odisha as a skilled labor center for the New World. He continued, “The Conclave will offer a special chance to showcase Odisha’s accomplishments in skilling, conducive atmosphere, and the vast existing and emerging opportunities across sectors.” The Conclave will begin on April 20. On that day, a plenary session will be held to debate pertinent issues, such as how to build a cohesive skill ecosystem in India and how to recognize skilled labor, among other things, according to the Minister.
Similar to this, debate on vital subjects including making India the world’s skill capital and empowering women through skills will take place on April 21. The Minister noted that a special drone technology session and exhibit, as well as a debate on the function of sector skill councils, are scheduled for April 22. Gharai emphasized that under the astute leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, many transformative measures have been done to create a progressive environment to support the growth of the industrial sector through policy changes, infrastructure development, skill development, and other means.
