Dept Of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Inks MoA With Indian School Of Business

In the presence of the Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment of the State of Odisha, Ranendra Pratap Swain, the Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Dr. Arabinda K. Padhee, the Director of Agriculture & Food Production-cum-Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to the State of Odisha, Prem Chandra Chaudhary, and the Executive Director of the ISB-BIPP H.

The Indian School of Business will help DAFE in its efforts to expand access to, affordability of, and availability of nutrient-dense foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and foods derived from animals, in order to improve nutrition outcomes for low-income households. In order to improve nutrition outcomes, agriculture-nutrition convergence, policy, markets, and technology will be used, and ISB will offer the necessary research and technical assistance. A climate resilience support cell will also be jointly established by DAFE and ISB. ISB will conduct research to pinpoint and comprehend the elements that influence the adaptability of crops, farmers, and rural livelihoods in Odisha to climate change. To develop a roadmap for climate-resilient agriculture in Odisha, DAFE and ISB will work together to explore policy innovations and potential directions.

This partnership will be led by DAFE, which will also make it possible to coordinate policies and programs across various government agencies and stakeholders in order to improve the state’s nutritional condition. It is anticipated that this partnership will help discover paths for climate-resilient agriculture and lead to the construction of long-lasting pathways for enhancing nutrition. Together, DAFE and ISB will endeavor to achieve these goals.
