In a crucial move to promote education in the state, the Odisha government has formally chosen to follow the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Odisha School and Mass Education Department made the announcement on Wednesday.
“After careful consideration, in the interest of strengthening the educational system in the State, the Government is pleased to order that the National Education Policy 2020, as issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India, will be implemented in the State of Odisha,” the official notification read.
The government is also happy to announce that the State of Odisha would adopt the National Curriculum Framework as its State Curriculum Framework after it has been locally contextualized. In order to provide students with a more relevant and interesting education, the curriculum will adhere to national standards while also taking into consideration the unique requirements and culture of Odisha.
