Odisha has bagged the 5th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation in the Online Popular City category. The Guangzhou Awards (organisation) identifies, documents, and disseminates innovative urban initiatives. Odisha’s Urban Wage Employment Initiative received was a key factor for the maximum votes polled on behalf of the State.
According to the reports, the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation announced the State’s feat over Twitter. The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation aims to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities and regions and, in so doing, to advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the Housing and Urban Development Department for the State bagging this award. He tweeted- “Congratulations @HUDDeptOdisha as #Odisha has been awarded 5th #GuangzhouAward which recognises innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities and regions. #Odisha has been awarded for its urban wage employment initiatives. #OdishaLeads.”
