The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) announced the T-20 League tournament scheduled to begin from 27th December at Barabati Stadium. The tournament will be held adhere to the measures of COVID-19 guidelines and maintaining proper social distancing.
Pankaj Kochan Mohanty, OCA President and Sanjay Behera, OCA Secretary informed about the MGM OCL T- 20 League which will be conducted by the Odisha Cricket Association with TCM which is a major sport Management Company. All the information regarding the league was informed in the Joint Press Meeting. The MGM Company holds the title sponsorship for the league, and the event is being organised in accordance with the permission of the State Government.
The OCL recently conducted the senior men Inter-District T-20 League where around 37 affiliated units had participated. Out of which the Senior Men’s Selection Committee has chosen 93 best players for the MGM OCL t-20 Cricket League.
The OCA authorities further informed that the league had been divided six teams where each team will have two support staff, one coach and one manager. All the teams will play matches on a double leg basis where there will be 30 matches, and the top four teams will qualify to the semi-final stage.
The top holder team will play against the third topmost position holder in the first semi-final and the second top team will play against the fourth top team in the second Semi-Final match. Later the two winners of the semi-final matches will play the finals on 14th January 2021. With two sessions, the first session will start from 3:30 PM, and the second session will start from 7:30 PM. Even the OCA has also appointed 11 umpires and eight scorers.
