Fight For Women’s Reservation In Parliament And Assembly Will Go On By BJD: CM Naveen Patnaik


Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recapitulate his party BJD’s involvement for the Women’s Reservation Bill which was passed in the parliament and the Legislative Assemblies during the 24th Foundation Day of BJD) Biju Janata Dal).

 CM Patnaik stated that BJD had become a social movement and women are the essence of this social movement. For Reservation of Women in Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly BJD will fight in every possible way. In every session now of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Legislative Assembly, BJD will raise the Women’s Reservation issue along with reminding the national parties. 

CM further stated that Empowerment of women is the Empowerment of the nation. No household, no society, no State, no country has ever moved forward without empowering its women. Even all the women who run their household are very effective, and they will successfully run the Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad.

CM Patnaik also reminded that in 1992 former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik created a history nationwide by passing 33% reservation for the women in the Panchayats, Urban Bodies and Government jobs in Odisha. He also mentioned that BJD was the political party who in 2019 General Elections allocated tickets to 33 % women candidates.

Naveen Patnaik also noted that BJD was the only political party who had allotted tickets to 33% woman candidates in the 2019 General Elections.
