Opposition releases a list of news channels to boycott

At a meeting of the INDIA bloc’s 14-member coordination committee held at NCP leader Sharad Pawar’s Delhi home, the group decided to boycott four TV news programmes and 14 TV news anchors. The alliance has reportedly boycotting networks like Times Now, Republic Bharat, Sudarshan News, and Doordarshan, according to Free Press Journal.

Because of their purportedly contentious and polarising debate shows, the leaders have chosen to boycott a number of news anchors and networks. Additionally, they have asserted that the choice was taken because these programmes divert attention away from urgent issues facing the nation. The Congress Party has announced the list of TV hosts that it will not support during the INDIA bloc meeting. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also produced a list of TV news anchors.

The TV anchors included on the list “refused to be the boot lickers and are therefore being boycotted,” according to Sudhir Chaudhary, an Aaj Tak journalist who commented to the list on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national leader of the IT cell advised the TV news anchors being boycotted to “wear it as a badge of honour.”
