BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) announced the cancellation of the written examination for Optional Subjects (Paper-I and Paper-II) for the recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) in Physics, Mathematics, and Odia. The exam was originally scheduled to take place on October 6, 2024.
Citing “unavoidable circumstances,” the OPSC released an official notification on Sunday, informing candidates of the cancellation. The commission assured applicants that exams for all other optional subjects will proceed as planned, with no changes to their schedule.
The notification read: “Examination in all other optional subjects shall be held as per schedule. Further dates for examination of the aforesaid three optional subjects will be notified later. The candidates are advised to visit the website of the OPSC regularly for further updates regarding the programme notice.”
This sudden decision has left candidates awaiting clarification and a new schedule for the postponed exams. The OPSC has urged all affected candidates to keep checking the commission’s official website for the latest updates and the announcement of new exam dates.
The cancellation has raised concerns among the aspirants, as they were preparing for months to appear for this crucial examination. However, the OPSC’s prompt notification offers hope that the rescheduled exams will be announced soon, ensuring minimal disruption to the recruitment process.
