Over 800 mobile towers are to be installed in Koraput and Malkangiri districts of Odisha to increase connectivity said Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw.
According to the reports, around 500 towers are to be set up at various places in Koraput, and 300 towers across Malkangiri district. Vaishnaw is on a visit to Odisha today to inaugurate Visakhapatnam-Koraput-Visakhapatnam Daily Passenger Special. He is scheduled for an enroute inspection of the proposed alignment between Jeypore & Malkanagiri.
The Minister will also inaugurate the Post Office building and dedicate upgraded Anla Sub-Post Office at Malkanagiri Mukhya Dakghar.
In Koraput district, a number of railway projects have been launched this year with the approval of the Centre, said Vaishnaw. He will review the progress of the projects and chair a review meeting related to developmental works with various stakeholders of the districts.
Vaishnaw had in February informed that the Centre would install about 4,000 mobile towers in various places across Odisha very soon. There is a clear instruction from the Prime Minister that not a single village of Odisha should be left out from mobile connectivity.
