It is a sad day for Odisha. 102 years old Padma awardee Nanda Prusty passed away at 1.30pm in Odisha today. The reports were shared by this family members.
Nanda Prusty, just after receiving the award was tested positive for C0VID virus. After his condition worsened, he was shifted to the renowned hospital of Bhuabneshwar SUM hospital from Kalinga Nagar Tata Medical Covid Hospital.
The 102-year-old teacher, popularly known as Nanda Master, was admitted to Jajpur district headquarters hospital on November 29 after he complained of acute pain in the chest.
Nanda Master was honoured with the Padma Shri for his long contribution to the field of education. He is perhaps the last man to keep the tradition of ‘chatashali’ (a non-formal school for primary education in Odisha) alive.
