by Subhechcha Ganguly

When PM Modi distributed 71,000 jobs to applicants on January 20 in this year’s first session, the PM Rozgar Mela, a programme that was begun in October 2022 with the goal of filling up 10 lakh+ employment vacancies in government agencies, had already distributed 2,17,000 appointment letters. The new hires, who were chosen from all over the nation, will work in a variety of jobs for the Indian government, including those for junior engineers, loco pilots, technicians, inspectors, sub inspectors, constables, stenographers, junior accountants, Grameen Dak Sevak, income tax inspectors, teachers, nurses, and doctors, as well as PAs and MTSs.

The PMO stated in a release that the Rozgar Mela is a step towards the Prime Minister fulfilling his promise to give the creation of jobs the top priority. According to the PMO, the Rozgar Mela is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for increased job creation and give young people worthwhile possibilities for empowerment and involvement in national development. In response to the opposition’s ongoing criticism of the government’s job-creation initiatives during the past eight years, the prime minister emphasised those achievements.

PM Modi acknowledged the difficulties facing the global economy, with many nations suffering from record unemployment and inflation, in his speech following the distribution of appointment letters for various government jobs to more than 75,000 people in the first tranche. He added that India is making every effort to emerge unscathed from the situation. During the seminar, the knowledge gained by recently appointed officials from the “Karmayogi Prarambh” module will also be discussed. According to the statement, the module serves as an online orientation training for all new hires in different government ministries.Meanwhile, Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, claimed that the purported 71,000 appointment letters were insufficient.
