In a decisive message during a 35-minute phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India will not engage in any trade negotiations while it continues its fight against terrorism.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed the media, saying, “During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi firmly told President Trump that India will respond to Pakistan’s bullets with shells. He also emphasized that Operation Sindoor, India’s ongoing counter-terror operation, is actively underway.”
Reiterating India’s unwavering stance, Misri added, “The Prime Minister made it absolutely clear that India will not pursue any trade agreements while confronting terrorism. The fight against terror is our top priority.”
