Congress general secretary KC Venugopal commented on the ongoing crisis in Congress, stating that the party has nothing to worry about as everything will be all right. Recently Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation as state party chief has stirred the crisis in the Punjab Congress and since then discussions and deliberation have been made.
According to the reports, after Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation, a series of resignations was made which includes a minister and three Congress leaders, considered close to Sidhu, stepped down from their posts. This decision has blown the Congress High command as they were hoping that things will help to resolve the battle between Navjot Singh and Captain Amarinder Singh after Navjot was appointed as Punjab Congress president ahead of the Assembly elections early next year.
Meanwhile, the top Congress leadership has not accepted Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation, is adopting a wait and watch policy and has asked the local party leadership to resolve the matter.
