Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are expected to be the first to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccination for the Coronavirus. As per the reports, the first consignment has already arrived in the UK, and the administrations have decided to give the immunization first to those above the age of 80.

Along with the people above the age of 80, the frontline health staff and care home workers will also be the first to get the vaccine that was approved by the UK’s regulator on 2nd December.

Anti-vaccine claims on social media and elsewhere are among significant obstacles the UK’s health officials face when planning the biggest mass vaccination program in the country’s history. And to over the public anxieties, prominent figures like Queen Elizabeth taking vaccine will help it.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince will be informed when they will have the vaccine that would be initially rolled out in 50 hospitals with facilities for freezing the consignment at a temperature between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius. Because of their age, they both will be in the first group to identify the vaccination.

Around 800000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine initially have been received from Belgium, and the UK has ordered 40 Million doses, which is expected to vaccinate approximately 20 million people with two doses in 21 days apart. It has also reached the agreement for early access to over 300 Million doses of other pharma vaccines when it will be approved by the regulators.

Matt Hancock, health secretary, stated, “I urge everybody to play their part to suppress this virus and follow the local restrictions to protect the National Health Service while they carry out this crucial work.”
