Ravindra Jadeja, an Indian all-rounder, might run into legal issues

The renowned all-rounder for Team India, Ravindra Jadeja, courted controversy by participating in a road show in Jamnagar to support his wife, BJP candidate Rivaba Jadeja, who is running in the state Assembly elections.On Friday, hundreds of BJP supporters marched beside Ravindra Jadeja in vehicles, bikes, and an open jeep while he waved at the people in Jamnagar, his hometown.It didn’t go down well, though, since many fans thought it was unprofessional. The fans criticised Jadeja, claiming that he should have been spending his time at the NCA in Bangalore receiving treatment, but instead was engaged in election campaigns supporting the entry of his wife into politics.

There was more to it, though. Ravindra Jadeja has a central contract with BCCI, which political analyst and consultant Tehseen Poonawalla mentioned on Twitter while bringing up a different topic.The use of a photograph of Rivaba’s spouse sporting the Indian cricket team shirt on her campaign posters has already drawn criticism.Rivaba joined the BJP in 2019 and recently received a ticket to run from the Jamnagar (North) constituency in the forthcoming Gujarat assembly elections in 2022.
