Actor Sherlyn Chopra in her statement to the Cyber Cell of the Mumbai Police in March 2021 stated that Raj Kundra had requested that she create content for his HotShots app, but she refused as she found content on the platform to be “sleazy and downmarket”.
According to the official reports, Sherlyn Chopra told cops that in March 2019, Kundra had approached her business manager with the idea of “The Sherlyn Chopra App”, saying that the content she uploads on social media is free but she can monetise it through a customized app.
The report further added that in March 2019, Sherlyn Chopra had entered into an agreement with Armprime, whose founder was Raj Kundra. But she didn’t renew the agreement with Armsprime as she was not comfortable with the existing 50-50 revenue sharing model and had asked for the content on the app to be deleted on the expiry of the agreement but the content is still available on the internet.
Chopra’s statement was recorded in an FIR registered against OTT platforms in 2020 for allegedly transmitting sexually explicit and obscene content online.
