The Odisha State Government’s ambitious plan of transforming SCB Medical College and Hospital to be a world-class healthcare institution, CM Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated a three-lane road on both sides of the Taladanda Canal through video conference.
The roads connect Jobra and Ranihat constructed in a time of seven months at a cost of 14 crores to ease mobility of vehicles.
These roads will be expanded further in future for easy and reliable movement of vehicles to bring patients from different parts of the State.
Cuttack has always been stated as a significant issue of narrow and congested roads, which puts problems for movement of vehicles, and therefore the Odisha Government has given top priority to resolve as part of the modernization programme of the city.
The government thanked the people of Cuttack for their utter sacrifice and cooperation in making the project successful.
Speaking to the occasion, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das said the new roads would play a crucial role in making healthcare available to people in a hassle-free manner.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena and Works Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik, Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Soubhik Biswal, 5T Secretary VK Pandian, Principal Secretary of Water Resources Anu Garg and Collector Bhabani also give away their regards to the team in successful possession of the project.
