Virat Kohli gave the whole cricket fraternity a shocker when he suddenly announced his resignation from Test Captaincy. However, as per the reports, BCCI had requested Kohli to captain India in his 100th Test match which is scheduled against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. BCCI wanted to give Virat Kohli a farewell match as a captain for his immense contribution. However, Virat Kohli has denied the request of BCCI.

Kohli refused to accept the offer saying, “One match makes no difference. That’s not how I am”. The rift between BCCI and Kohli started when he was sacked as an ODI Captain. While selectors said that Virat was requested not to give up T20 captaincy, Virat firmly stated in the press conference that there was no such request made.
Virat Kohli will only play only as a player in 3 formats of the game. Thereby, he needs to prove his game, especially in the longest format of the game where he has been underperforming for over 2 years now.
