Series of Bomb Threats Targets Air India, IndiGo Flights, and Mumbai-Howrah Train

Series of bomb threats caused widespread concern on Monday morning, affecting two IndiGo flights and a Mumbai-Howrah Mail train shortly after an Air India flight was diverted due to a similar threat.

The first incident occurred with IndiGo flight 6E 1275, traveling from Mumbai to Muscat. The aircraft was moved to an isolated bay at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, where mandatory security checks were immediately carried out. An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed that all standard safety protocols were followed.

Soon after, a second threat was received for IndiGo flight 6E 56, bound for Jeddah. This flight was also taken to an isolated bay for further security inspections.

Both incidents are under investigation, and so far, no suspicious items have been found.

Earlier in the day, an Air India flight AI119, with 239 passengers on board, was diverted to New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after a bomb threat was reported. The Mumbai-New York flight took off around 2 AM and was redirected for safety reasons. Passengers disembarked safely, and the plane was thoroughly inspected.

In addition to the air threats, the Mumbai-Howrah Mail (train no. 12809) received a bomb threat around 4 AM. The train was stopped at Jalgaon station, where security personnel conducted a thorough search. No suspicious objects were found, and the train continued its journey.

Authorities are investigating the series of threats, though no harmful devices have been discovered so far. Security remains heightened at key transportation hubs across the country.
