Shree Jagannath Temple Will Have Special Darshan Arrangements For People With Disabilities

Special arrangements will be made for differently-abled devotees to have darshan of the deities at the Shree Jagannath Temple here. Following the demand of Sri Kshetra Dibyang Seva Sangathan, special arrangements for darshan by differently-abled devotees will be made at the temple’s Uttar Dwar following the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama project, informed Ranjan Kumar Das, Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

According to Chief Administrator Das, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for darshan by differently-abled devotees will be developed while keeping the traditions and rituals of the 12th century shrine in mind. Every day, a time slot will be set aside for differently-abled people to receive darshan. He stated that the special arrangement will be made with the Chhattisa Nijog and Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee’s approval.

A waiting room for differently-abled devotees will be built at the Uttar Dwar as part of the Srimandir Parikrama project, he added.
